The Magic Moment Contest specializes in detailed personal critiques!

This is your chance to see how your writing stacks up! Send us ANY ten (10) pages of your manuscript (where the hero and heroine first meet), and we'll give you the benefit of three detailed critiques.

CONTEST RULES:

Eligibility:

This contest is open to all writers not published in the last five years.

Format:

• Magic Moment has gone paperless! All entrants have the option of submitting paper or electronic entries.

ELECTRONIC Entries:

• Download, complete and attach the entry form to an email message addressed to  MagicMoment@heartandscroll.com

• Attach a digital copy of your entry to the same email message as your entry form. Remember: Must be first meeting between hero and heroine.
• Entries must be in proper manuscript format with title and page number in the header. Please DO NOT put your name on any manuscript pages.
• Pay via PayPal

RWA Member $25.00 USD Non-RWA Member $30.00 USD

PAPER Entries:

• Your entry must include FOUR (4) copies of the any TEN (10) pages of your manuscript. Remember: Must be first meeting between hero and heroine.
• Entries must be in proper manuscript format with title and page number in the header. Please DO NOT put your name on any manuscript pages.
• You must include a completed and signed Entry Form for each entry.

***Magic Moments Entry Form***

• You must include a check for the entry fee made to Heart and Scroll  for each entry. You may choose to pay via PayPal, if so, please note this on your entry form.
• You must enclose an SASE sufficient for the return of score sheets and all manuscripts.

Deadline:

April 1, 2012 - All entries must be postmarked by April 1, 2012.

May 30, 2012  - Finalists will be notified by email. All entries that included a SASE will be returned via mail to contestants.

First Round:

• All entries are judged.
• Detailed feedback will be recorded on three copies of the entry.
• Contestants will be notified of their status via email.
• Feedback forms will be returned via the SASE provided.

Final Round:

• Top 3 contestant entries provided to final judge.
• Winners will be notified of their status.

Fees:

Entry fees are $25 for RWA members and $30 for non-RWA members.
